This Week at St. Timothy’s
For the Week Beginning June 14th, 2009

 Prayer for the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit

Christ Jesus, before ascending into heaven, You promised to send the Holy Spirit
   to Your apostles and disciples.
Grant that the same Spirit may perfect in our lives the work of Your grace and love.
Grant us the Spirit of Fear of the Lord that we may be filled with a loving reverence toward You.
The Spirit of Piety that we may find peace and fulfillment in the service of God while serving others;
The Spirit of Fortitude that we may bear our cross with You and, with courage, overcome the obstacles
   that interfere with our salvation;
The Spirit of Knowledge that we may know You and know ourselves and grow in holiness;
The Spirit of Understanding to enlighten our minds with the light of Your truth;
The Spirit of Counsel that we may choose the surest way of doing Your will, seeking first the Kingdom;
Grant us the Spirit of Wisdom that we may aspire to the things that last forever;
Teach us to be Your faithful disciples and animate us in every way with Your Spirit. Amen.

Have a blessed week,
Jozetta, Richlyn Ophelia & Stacy

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION
The Adult Bible Study and the 11:00 A.M. mid – week service will resume in September.

Mark your calendar for July 6-10th 2009 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. It is Vacation Bible School Time! Our VBS theme this year is "The Jesus Chronicles" A life Changing encounter! Our Bible theme scripture is taken from Luke 3:4.  "Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him". Make plans to join us as we take part in a wonderful journey exploring the miracles of Jesus. As in the past years, we will begin each evening with a light supper from 6:00 p.m. till 6:30 p.m. Our VBS session will start at 6:30 p.m. and run until 8:30 p.m. The evening will be full of good old fellowship as we study the Bible, sing songs to the glory of God, make arts & crafts, and play games. Volunteers are always needed and welcomed. If anyone is interested in helping with our VBS program this year, please contact Julius Copeland at 301-390-4082. Please join us for the "Jesus Chronicles". Thank You.

This Week’s MEDITATION

Almighty God, who on this day
didst open the way of eternal life
to every race and nation
by the promised gift of thy Holy Spirit:
Shed abroad this gift throughout the world
by the preaching of the Gospel,
that it may reach to the ends of the earth;
through Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth
with thee, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
