Veteran’s Day Prayer

Dear Lord,

Today we honor our veterans,worthy men and women who gave their best when they were called upon to serve and protect their country. We pray that you will bless them, Lord,for their unselfish service in the continual struggle to reserve our freedoms, our safety, and our country’s heritage, for all of us. Bless them abundantly for the hardships they faced, for the sacrifices they made for their many different contributions to America’s victories over tyranny and oppression. We respect them, we thank them, we honor them, we are proud of them, and we pray that you will watch over these special people and bless them with peace and happiness. In Jesus’ name we pray; Amen.

ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2009 we will have only one service at 9 a.m. for the Commissioning of our newly licensed LEV/LEM/s. Please come out en masse to support these men and women who have offered themselves to serve God and serve God’s people especially those who are unable to be in church on Sundays.

VESTRY MEETING

The 2010 Budget will be presented at the Vestry meeting on Saturday, November 14, 2009. Parishioners who are interested in a more in depth explanation of the Budget are invited to attend the Vestry meeting. This effort is in response the recommendation that parishioners have an opportunity to get more information about the budget and to reduce the amount of time spent on this matter at the Annual Meeting.

THE 2009 VESTRY NOMINATING COMMITTEE began its work to ensure an acceptable slate of candidates is presented to the members of St. Timothy's Church at the December 13, Annual Parish Meeting. Six Vestry positions, to include the Junior Warden, will be filled. The vacancies include the Youth Representative who will be selected by the Youth Group. The slate will be presented for approval of the Vestry at the November 14, Vestry meeting. Once biographical information is obtained, the slate will be shared with ALL parishioners. VESTRY ELECTION ABSENTEE BALLOTS are available to members who will be unable to attend the Annual Meeting due to illness, handicapped or the necessity to travel out of town for business or family emergency. Count Your Blessings - On November 15, there will be tributes to grandparents & grandchildren and the series will culminate with a Pre-thanksgiving Dinner and a Redskins/Dallas watch party on November 22. BROTHERHOOD OF ST. ANDREW

ST. TIMOTHY’S CHAPTER OF THE BROTHERHOOD OF ST. ANDREW will meet Saturday, November 14th, at 12:00 PM, instead of November 7th, as previously announced. Thank you, Herman Bostick

ADVENT

ADVENT STUDY SERIES 2009: The word “Advent” means “to come or show up”. It’s a time for self examination and asking for forgiveness as we spiritually prepare for Christ’s coming. Your prayers and presence are requested as we journey through Advent. During our study series, we will read, think through and discuss how to “prepare him room”, led by various presenters. Come and enjoy fellowship, a light lunch/supper, discussions and the Eucharist each Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. or 6:30 p.m. (December 2, 9 and 16)

ECW’S ANNUAL TEA – The Tea will be held on Saturday, December 5^th from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the parish hall. This year’s theme is: “God’s Grace & Inspiration For Thine Spirit”. All women and young ladies are invited to come share their gifts through demonstration, display or discussion. Please invite your family, friends and neighbors. Our Prayers

We pray for the Church throughout the world; for the Anglican Communion, for the Episcopal Church, for all Bishops, Priests, Deacons and Lay Ministers.

We pray for peace and goodwill among all nations; and for the well-being of all people.

We pray for this parish of St. Timothy’s and for all of our parishioners.

We pray for those in any need or trouble and especially for those who have lost their homes to foreclosure or their jobs or savings in the current economic crisis. Let us pray for those who have been injured in acts of warfare or terrorism, and for those who are sick and especially for those for whom our prayers have been requested:

Let us offer prayers of thanksgiving for the gift of life and join with those who give particular thanks for their birthdays and anniversaries this month.

Let us Praise God for those in every generation in whom Christ has been honored rejoicing in the fellowship of the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Timothy our Patron Saint and all the Saints. AMEN
