This Week at St. Timothy’s
For the Week Beginning December 6, 2009

Church is not something you do.  It is who you are.

Is church just someplace to go and something to do on Sunday or do you carry it in your heart everyday, every hour, everywhere?

It is certain that those who publicly profess that they are "Christian" in an open forum are most ridiculed when they fall short of the glory of God.  Some joke in the office and I am often called "The Church Lady" and I welcome the title. They also are careful to not upset "The Church Lady" (smile).  We are all human, and make mistakes from time to time.  Yet, through it all, God's light shines through those who remain faithful to His will.

God's people are the church and we should always be committed to living in His image no matter how difficult the task may be at times.  Be strong, fellow Christians, and press forward - regardless.

Have a Blessed Week,
Jozetta, Richlyn Ophelia & Stacy
CHANGE IN SCHEDULE - VESTRY FAMILIES MEETING & ANNUAL MEETING

Please note that the annual meeting has been moved to Sunday, December 20th.  The Vestry Families Meeting will be held on Sunday, December 13th. There will be two services this Sunday for the Vestry Families Meeting and one service on December 20th - annual meeting.  All parishioners are encouraged to attend both Sundays to particpate in these events as we discuss the business (present and future) of our church.
ecw

The ECW officers would like to thank those who participated in the Annual Tea held on Saturday, December 5th. It was a snowy day, and many still ventured out for this event.  We especially thank our hostesses and Shirlie Robinson for her many wonderful baked goods that were enjoyed by all.
YOUTH MINISTRIES

All youth and parents are asked to keep in mind that the Sr. Youth Group meetings are every 1st and 3rd Sunday immediately following the 10 a.m. service and Jr. Youth Group meetings are held every 2nd and 4th Sunday immediately following the 10 a.m. service. This past Sunday was combined due to the topics that were being discussed. The Jr. Youth Group is still scheduled to meet this Sunday, December 13th.

christian education

The word “Advent” means “to come or show up”. It’s a time for self examination and asking for forgiveness as we spiritually prepare for Christ’s coming. Your prayers and presence are requested as we journey through Advent. During our study series, we will read, think through and discuss how to “prepare him room”, led by various presenters. Come and enjoy fellowship, a light lunch/supper, discussions and the Eucharist each Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. or 6:30 p.m. (December 2, 9 and 16).

Christmas Pageant Rehearsal will begin on Sunday, December 13th during the Church School hour (beginning at 9:45 a.m.).  All youth are invited to participate. We also need assistance form adults as participants and for props. If you are interested, please be sure to attend rehearsal in the lower parish hall on Sunday.
