Malou Rogers

BM, MS, CAGO 

Malou Rogers (pronounced muh-LOO) is an indigenous Native Californian from San Diego. She graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Organ Performance, Cum Laude with Distinction. Ms. Rogers later received a Professional Clear Teaching Credential in Music K-12 and a Master of Science Degree in Music Technology.

 

She is a certified Colleague of the American Guild of Organists and a past dean of the San Diego chapter.

Ms. Rogers taught music for San Diego Unified School District for 27 years and was recognized as Teacher-of-the-Year by both SDUSD and the CA Music Educators Association.

 

In addition to teaching, Ms. Rogers has worked since age 16 as Music Director-Organist for several large Lutheran and Episcopal churches in Southern California and was organist for the English Mass at the Catholic cathedral in Tokyo. She has performed jazz and classical music on five continents. Since retiring from full-time teaching, she freelances as a composer, arranger, and singer-songwriter, and has collaborated with many colleagues across the nation.
